The National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) is a 501(c)(6) trade association founded in 1980. Our mission is to educate, advocate, and empower for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry.

NAMIC members are cable operators, programmers, telecommunication and new media professionals and entrepreneurs. They are frontline employees, managers, executives and every position in-between. Our organization contains members of multiple races, creeds and cultures—all committed to a future in which these differences are strengths. NAMIC is committed to continually promoting multi-ethnic representation and development in the communications industry.

Chapters across the United States are NAMIC’s foundation. Membership is comprised of more than 2,000 professionals in 17 chapters in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Detroit, Mid-Atlantic, New England, New York, Central Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Miami, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Francisco Bay Area, Southern California, St. Louis and Western Pennsylvania. In addition to local chapter affiliation, all members belong to the national organization.

NAMIC’s success lies in not only focusing on industry-wide initiatives, but also in our commitment to individuals. Our leadership development programs give the tools for professional growth directly to employees; ensuring people of color will be a major part of the power base in the new millennium. After taking the pulse on issues of interest locally, NAMIC chapters work to build skills, create networking opportunities, participate in innovative programs and cultivate and develop leaders. Our goal is to engage and connect our members with the resources, people, companies and opportunities that support and promote diversity at all levels and in all areas.

2011 is an exciting year at NAMIC-Philadelphia! We’re working hard to continue our progress and achievements from last year, including being named Chapter of the Year by our national organization. We’re currently working to bring our members more great events, enhanced interactive communications and tools to help continue to build you leadership skills and professional brand.
