On Saturday, April 30, 2011 NAMIC-Philadelphia participated in the 10th Annual Comcast Cares Day by taking part in beautification projects at Fairhill School in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
Armed with paint brushes, rakes and work gloves—and led by City Year Philadelphia Corps Members— our members, their families and friends took part in projects such as painting and renovating the gym and playgrounds, mural painting, gardening, cleanup and more.
NAMIC volunteers were joined by nearly 400 Comcast employees and friends, as well as Mayor Michael Nutter, former Eagle Hugh Douglas, Hayley Kiyoko and Adam Hicks of Disney's Lemonade Mouth and many more generous volunteers.
“We were truly happy to have our members come out and share in this special day of giving,” said NAMIC-Philadelphia President Andrea Agnew. “Many thanks to all our volunteers and chapter leadership for your commitment to investing in our communities."
