We would like to thank everyone who was able to attend our Hispanic Heritage Month event, A New Majority: The Growing Influence & Impact of Hispanics in the Communications Industry.

During the event, held at the Comcast Center on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, a dynamic panel of industry and business community leaders discussed how the communications industry is intersecting with the Hispanic community, while focusing on marketing and programming content both targeting and representing people of Hispanic heritage.

Panelists genuinely engaged the audience by sharing personal experiences and candid professional opinions. One of the most impactful take aways from the event was the collective belief of the panelists that we are all responsible for ‘paying it forward’ – giving back to our local communities and helping to provide access and avenues to opportunities and success.

The event was a hit with attendees and panelists alike and there were rave reviews for the discussion and the buffet which featured delicious and authentic Hispanic food and drinks. NAMIC-Philadelphia’s Membership Committee Co-Chair, Nick Jimenez, commented, “We are so grateful to our panelists for sharing authentic experiences and insights with us. This event is an ideal representation of our mission ‘to educate, advocate and empower for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry’”
