Blogging Policy

Participating in the NAMIC-Philadelphia Chapter blog, forum, chat room, social network, wiki or any other online discussion area is an independent decision and not a required of NAMIC members, volunteers and friends.

NAMIC-Philadelphia asks that all participants use their highest standards of professional and personal judgment on posts, messages, discussions or other communications that may impact/reflect upon the Chapter or NAMIC National, even when made in the participant’s personal capacity and without any intention to speak on behalf of the Chapter or NAMIC National.

Inappropriate or unauthorized communications could, among other things, affect the Chapter and NAMIC National’s activities and reputation, its valued relationships with the community, local partnership organizations, sponsors and associated corporations/businesses, and its legal responsibilities as a Chapter of NAMIC National.

For any online discussions that you choose to participate in that may impact the Chapter or NAMIC National, we ask that you adhere to the following general guidelines:

  • Be respectful of NAMIC-Philadelphia and NAMIC National, it’s members, volunteers, sponsors, partner organizations and friends
  • Think about the consequences of what you want to say before you say it
  • Don’t post spam or other content that is generally viewed as unacceptable
  • Be polite, on-topic, and respectful of others’ views
  • Don’t share confidential information or discuss the details of non-public projects you are associated with
  • Be honest and accurate
  • Do not use NAMIC-Philadelphia Chapter blog, forum, chat room, social network, wiki or any other online discussion area as a means to solicit:
  • Participation in unauthorized or non-associated Chapter/National events or organizations
  • Monetary support, funds for non-associated Chapter/National causes
  • Do not speak on behalf of NAMIC-Philadelphia or NAMIC National, unless authorized by NAMIC Philadelphia or NAMIC National
  • Violation of the NAMIC-Philadelphia blogging policy could result in disassociation from the Chapter including membership cancellation, legal action on behalf of NAMIC Philadelphia or NAMIC National and reporting to FaceBook or other online forum host’s legal/administration departments.
