Destination Executive Level: Are your Brand, Image and Appearance Ready?
The National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) Philadelphia Chapter hosted the first of three parts of their Professional Development Series on April 26th. Destination Executive Level: Are Your Brand Image and Appearance Ready was led by Barbara Gee, Owner, and CEO of PositiveLee for You.
Barbara Gee, a previous President of NAMIC Philadelphia and former Vice President of Digital Sales Alliances for xfinity.com at Comcast, spoke to the packed room about how everything we do define our brand and the qualities of effective executive presence. Barbara opened the session by declaring “…we judge and are judged every second of every day.” Everything we say, think, do, and wear impacts our personal brand. Barbara also stated feedback is good if the person that is giving it has nothing to gain. Useful feedback can inform you about blind spots you may have about yourself and help you determine what things you should do differently. Improving your personal brand does not have to be a huge task to take on right away. There are tweaks everyone can make to move themselves in the right direction.
A summary of Barbara Gee’s presentation can be found [here]. The Executive Presence Recipe, a list of Credibility Builders, and a list of Image and Brand Boosters Barbara spoke about are included in the summary.
Destination Executive Level: Are Your Brand Image and Appearance Ready was Part 1 of NAMIC Philadelphia’s Professional Development Series. Part 2 is scheduled for July 26th and features Michael Cox, SVP of Talent Acquisition at Comcast. The format for Part 2 will be a fireside chat on how taking the right risks can advance your career. We look forward to seeing you there!
The goal of the Professional Development Series is to provide our membership with the tools they need to take their career wherever they want it to go.
