Michael Clancy serves as the Vice President of Operations Compliance for Comcast Cable. In this role he is responsible to assure the varied cable operations meet expectations for compliance to regulations while optimizing processes to efficiently and effectively achieve business objectives and improve the overall customer experience. His industry experience, developed over more than four decades, provides the foundation to support him in his mission.

Mr. Clancy is known to be generous with his time supporting his passion for developing the next generation of leaders who will be accountable to provide industry leadership into the future. He worked to help create the Employee Resource Groups at Comcast and served in a leadership position with OUT @ Comcast for four years. Mr. Clancy actively supported the development of the ERG Mentorship Program and then worked with the Veteran’s Network at Comcast to develop a mentoring program focused on having Veterans mentor Veterans.

Prior to joining Comcast Mr. Clancy worked at Covad Communications. He built that company’s Tri-State network encompassing Northern New Jersey, all boroughs of New York City, all of Long Island and Westchester County in New York and the Western Connecticut area. To accomplish this Mr. Clancy had to build a team of network engineers, field technicians, dispatch specialists and service testers to work with the incumbent telephone company in service delivery. Additionally, Mr. Clancy developed a team of customer support specialists who worked with Covad’s direct customers, ISPs, and with the ISPs customers, to assure service delivery. It was a complex service fulfillment network and Mr. Clancy’s focus on process and accountability were key elements in creating success. Mr. Clancy also developed new skills during this experience to add to the technical skills he’d already acquired; regulatory advocacy, negotiations and industry collaboration.

 

Mr. Clancy began his career as a Switching Equipment Technician at New York Telephone and took on increasing responsibility there ending his service as Director of Interoffice Facility Engineering at Bell Atlantic with responsibility for that network spanning the fourteen states that Bell Atlantic serviced.

 

Mr. Clancy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York.
